Rashtriya Janata Dal now says "Lalu's Chhat Puja is for Maharashtrians"

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) now says that its decision to hold "Chhat Puja" in Mumbai was not a show of strength to challenge the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). RJD General Secretary Shyam Rajak said Railways Minister Lalu Prasad and his wife former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi have been performing Chhat Puja for several years. "RJD is not against Maharashtrians. Laluji and Rabridevi will pray for Maharashtra's prosperity. No political overtones should be seen in the move," he added.

Chhat Puja celebration would not see any law and order problem."it will be celebrated in a peaceful manner,"he added.

Further Shyam Rajak said, Raj Thackeray was too small a leader to be compared to Lalu Prasad. "Laluji is a national leader and even proved his credentials as a management guru by turning the fortunes of indian railways. Raj Thackeray has become insane. He has no interests of Maharashtra in his mind but the real issue is about claiming the political legacy of his uncle, "he said.

Rajak said Biharis were not beggars, but worked hard to earn their bread and better wherever they have settled down. "At the same time, they have contributed to the development and prosperity of the region they have settled in,"he said.
